This Reserve is an historic goldfields cemetery, and is significant as one of the few surviving landmarks of the former Horseshoe Bend settlement on the east bank of the Clutha/Mata-au River. The main feature are two graves.

If you travel by bike, I recommend that you take this route if the previous days it was raining, because the cycle trail in this part could be very muddy, it is only a small segment, then you can return to the cycle trail in a few meters
