Dry feet all along the way, lovely forest, and a beautiful view over the lake as reward. I can only recommend it!

It's a new track, so can be really muddy, it is categorised by the DoC as 'tramping track'. Expect wet feet

You can reach this place via the Lake Gault Track, which starts from the upper side of the Lake Matheson walk. It's a bit more than 3 hours return.
