Description
Car park for the Abel Tasman Coast Track. Wainui is the northern entrance. It's 128 km from Nelson and 21 km from Takaka. For the last 2 km, the road is unsealed. A number of short walks also leave from this location. Toilets and picnic tables are available.
There is strictly NO freedom camping.

I loved the taupo point track, go when its low tide, walk along the beach and you may see some stingrays

Really nice Carpark. Because of less freedom campsites in this area we stayed here for 3 nights without any problems. Eventhough the Campgrounds close by were full at the moment. You can start really beautiful longer and shorter walks from here. Great place to stay
