Description
The Groynes is a great place for a family day out. There are lots of walking tracks, fishing spots, picnic areas and a large dog exercise park.
Access to the Groynes is from Johns Road.
Gates and opening hours:
Daylight savings 7am to 9pm
Rest of year 7am to 7pm
There are multiple playgrounds throughout the Groynes with various equipment including a flying fox, bridge, multi-play structure, see-saw, slides and swings.
There is a large off-leash exercise park for dogs. Dogs are not permitted anywhere else in the Groynes except if passing through on the Otukaikino Track where they must be on a leash.
Freedom camping is prohibited on all parks and reserves under the Parks and Reserves bylaw.

Asked a council ranger today & that is a no to camping at the Groynes sorry.

Stayed again last night and can confirm it is official. A security guard came to tell us he was closing the gate, are we ok and to remind us you can stay just 3 nights. Beautiful spot to stay. Keep it clean.
