Open but no toilets and bins. Large spot to camp on mind and we stayed down on the sand/rocks area which was lovely. Just us and one other. Beautiful river flow too. Not many sandflies either

We were there 2 nights ago for a stop before heading to Franz Joseph. As mentioned on the page that it is closed BUT SC vehicles are still permitted to camp there. Huge area and we were the only one there. Peaceful and quiet!
