Nice cheap spot just outside St Arnaud. DOC do a fantastic job of providing these places for the budget traveller and $8 pp/pn is quite reasonable. They are usually safe for women on their own and are a great way to meet other like minded people. The sandflies are challenging but as the toilets are clean with plenty of loo paper I would happily come back.

Just for clarification there are two places in the same general Teetotal area (for those complaining of $8 DOC sites). This one, the actual Teetotal campsite is $8 (water - boil, and long drop toilets). Further along SH63, just a smidgen, is a gravel road leading to a literal carpark also in the Teetotal area, for SC only, and free. There is nothing else there except great mountain bike tracks and views, so you need to be fully SC.
