Freedom camping permitted in CERTIFIED SELF-CONTAINED VEHICLES ONLY. Vehicle numbers are limited to 10 vehicles.
You may stay a maximum of two consecutive nights in any four week period.
The Taylor Dam is located off Taylor Pass Road approximately 7 kms from Blenheim.
Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace.
Keep New Zealand clean. Always use the toilet in your vehicle or a public toilet.

Good spot, nice walk around the lake. Park site is about 5 minutes from lake and toilets, toilets are open all night. Max 2 nights, 10 bays only and can get busy

So disappointing when they deliberately place the camping area right up the front when the well lit brand new toilets are all the way up the back. Difficult to find when you unfortunately turn up in the dark. Would have made freedom campers feel more welcome if the camping was closer to the toilets! That and the hoons racing around til midnight.
