Description
This is a standard 6-bunk hut located in Mount Richmond Forest Park in the Nelson Lakes area. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served.
Facilities include mattresses, non-flush toilets and water (not treated - boil before use).

Easy walk from road end
1-3 hours
Altitude: 910 m above sea level.
Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 6 or 12-month period.

Great new hut- took us 2 hours from the carpark along a 4WD track. Started going through a beautiful forest and then up a rocky track. No heating/fire but insulated. Nice tracks up to the plateau or on to the next hut along the Richmond ranges
