It's just a small gravel area next to the road? At the lookout sign. Not sure if you can stay here while self-contained. Certainly no place for a tent...

It's really good for just stay overnight. No cars after 8 pm. Quiet and the view is OK. Not a lot sandflies as it's quite windy there. We took the first from the three turn-offs if you're heading to Wanaka.

Similar to what Laurajxrvis said, very windy! Its midmight now and Im debating moving to another site a little further South.
