Description
Freedom camping permitted in certified self contained vehicles only. Camping in tents and non-self contained vehicles is NOT permitted.
All independent overnight/freedom campers must behave in an acceptablae manner while camping in the Mackenzie Region.
This includes:
Not camping on private land
Leaving your camp site(s) in a clean and tidy state
Disposing of all toilet and waste water at a Council approved dump station (located in Fairlie, Lake Tekapo and Twizel)
Disposing of all other refuse in approved bags and at approved locations
Following safe fire practices at all times, including adhering to fire bans
Keeping dogs under control at all times

The cut all the trees.. The spot is ugly at the moment.. Difficult to reach the SC parking.. Sad.. Was one of my favorite spot..

Logging operations in progress. Otherwise nice site. Quite uneven, but you'll be able to find a spot if you look for.

Yes there were so many pine seeds that had no choice to cut them all down.Thank you for what they do to take care of this place. This place is so beautiful and amazing everything is a perfect free campground , If you pass by here don't miss it.
