Wonderful quiet site with spectacular view!

I think some of the other reviews for this site should have actually been for a different site. To be clear, this site has no facilities (no trash, no toilets, etc.) whatsoever and has no signs of any kind either. It's true freedom camping. Super private with beautiful views, direct beach access to swim in the lake at your own pleasure! Of course you'll hear an occasional car zoom by, or another campervan to stop by for a picnic, but this spot is truly a hidden gem! Our two wheel drive van had no problem getting down the little road to park right on the beach where we camped all by ourselves.

Stayed there last night. Plenty of space for large vehicles and toilets at exit before info centre. Signs everywhere advising camping allowed in Self Contained Vehicles only. Nice and quiet at night with awesome view of Mount Cook.
