Nice spot. A bit expensive indeed but toilets blocks are new and clean and well we enjoyed our stay with a beautiful sunset by the lake. Lots of sandflies be prepared!

Stayed here last night, busiest campsite we've seen in a long time and not huge either, not many spaces for larger vehicles, a lot of locals (with dogs) use it to keep their cars whilst boating and park all over the place, we saw last night anyway, and nothing to differentiate the areas?!? So, get in early ha! Anyway, really peaceful night, beautiful, misty lake, clean flush-loos too, but, if we didn't already have the DOC/NZMCA Pass, we wouldn't pay to stay at this one. Keep it clean though all. Find us on Instagram if you're touring @saltyskin

Very average DOC campsite which was a quite small and very busy gravel car park, which only just offset by the nice toilet block. Watch out for the sand flies here they are murderous.
