Ok so you have to stay north of the dame the cordinates say south . If you go more west over the other dam about 3 km on the bycicle track there is a parking with a toillet.

Seems to be just a car park area. We didn't see any water supply or toilet.

Not sure if we had the right spot. But camped at the lakes edge just off cycle road. Good canoeing & boating lake. Lots of peeps fishing along dam entrance river. Much Better than the spot at lake ruataniwha. We were the Only peeps here.
