Sandfly central! Bring bug spray and use a lot of it!! Lol

Lovely spot with plenty of walks and decent toilet facilities, we were here in the winter and it was still quite busy. Uneven ground lots of puddles and some mud made it difficult to find a good spot to park as there's no allocated bays to park in. Some sandflies with the sun out even in winter. Didn't have any trouble with possums at all.

I think this site is unofficial now, there are no signs at the site. As far as I can tell it's still fine to freedom camp here, according to the district council website this camp is outside of the Hanmer town no freedom camping zone. I stayed 2 nights, it was nice and quiet, there are toilets towards the mountain bike area.
