Description

Freedom camping on DOC Land in a gravel parking area in the Balmoral Fire Lookout Conservation Area. From here you can walk up to the Fire Lookout. Follow an old 4WD access road up to the lookout at a steady grade.The walk takes between 30 and 40 mins one way. Be responsible with your waste wherever you camp. Carry in, carry out. Leave no trace. There are no toilet facilities at this site. Keep New Zealand clean. Always use the toilet in your vehicle or a public toilet. Fires not permitted.
