Description

The Dunedin Museum of Natural Mystery is a small private museum and gallery open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Entry to the Museum is currently free but koha (donations) are much appreciated. Spread over three rooms of an old central city villa, the museum contains a collection of skulls, bones, biological curiosities, ethnological art and unusual cultural artifacts which the artist and curator has collected over a life-time. There is also a gallery featuring the artist's trademark textural bone sculptures and paintings of animals on canvas. Sometimes there are also group shows by local artists. The Museum stocks a small collection of books and t-shirts as well as art and sculptures for sale. The Museum is usually open three days a week but may also be open on public holidays. If the Museum isn't open when you visit Dunedin you are welcome to contact Bruce (Ph. 021 0329 906) and he may be able to open up if he is available. Friday - 12 noon - 5pm. Saturday - 10am - 5pm. Sunday - 10am - 5pm.
