I loved this track. I was all by myself, not a single soul. It took me 2,5h up, walked along the ridge that was beautiful the different views in every direction. It was muddy in some parts. Right after rain this can get a little ugly, but always options to get around. It's a steep track with 1100m elevation included. But if you'll have a view it is totally worth it. It is amazing that you can start directly from the campsite and go for a swim afterwards, best thing ever! Track start is signposted behind the sc parking (not at the lakefront).

Good: track is open. View is really great. But it's really challenging. You always think you got it, than you have to go higher. It's very much threw Forest, challenging, but doable. 3 h up and 2 h down. (2,5 h return to viewpoint)

After the last viewing point the real Te Kinga Track begins, unfortunately after 10 min there were to many trees fallen over the track, we tried to climb over the first ones but it got worser and worse (see photo). So the track to the summit should be closed. Took us a 2 hour return to the last viewing point. Climb was nice!
