Point of Interest

4.6 from 5 users.

The 80-minute walk follows an old 4WD road then the tracks climbs to the old water tunnels. You will need a torch and raincoat to explore the tunnels and you may get wet feet at worst the water will be ankle deep. The track stops at the old wooden flume at the end of the first tunnel. 3.6km return via the same track. No dogs.

Didn't have the right weather to see the glaciers so did this as a way to pass the time. Recommend wearing shoes you don't mind getting wet as the tunnel has water in it. It was just okay, nothing special, and not worth going to on a sunny day as there are far better walks in the area!

Oh and don't, forget you can do this accompanied by 30 trillion sandflies.

Done it today. Really good adventure. The track to the tunnel is already a stunning scenery. May be 20cm of water in the tunnels. And some glow warms. Closed gate at the end of the tunnel, but can cross it all. I really recommand it.
