View the seals in their natural habitat, with a backdrop of the Kaikoura mountains and coastline. For your safety and to avoid disturbing the seals, remain 10 m from any seal in the vicinity of the car park. Along the rest of the Kaikura Coast, 20 m is the recommended distance to keep away from a seal. There are toilets at the car park. No camping or overnight parking allowed.

Hundreds of seals were sunbathing here today! It is a lovely walk, you can do a loop by walking one way down at the water and the other up on the cliffs. Make sure to scout the sea for sprays, we saw multiple humpback whales today!



Beautiful place. We saw a few seals happily sunning themselves on the rocks.
