Peak Hill Summit

Point of Interest

5 from 1 user.

The climb to the top of Peak Hill rewards walkers with sweeping views of Lake Coleridge and its surrounds. The walk is extremely exposed to the weather and walkers should be well equipped. The walk takes around 3 hours return. From Algidus Road there is a sign and a marked easement over private land, which will take you to the summit along an unformed route. The walk is suitable for family groups. No dogs.

Really exposed all the way up and strong wind. Quite icy, then muddy which make some parts slippery cause it's steep. Amazing 360 degrees view at top of moutain and lake. Took 1h30 up and 1h down. Worth it on a nice sunny day !

Completed hike today. Took us 1hr 30 up and 1hr 15 down, we're relatively experienced hikers. Steep initial accent, then when you reach the ridge, you can really feel the wind. Quite slippery, muddy and a bit icy this time of year, make sure to wear proper boots and suitable clothing, not really any phone signal. Beautiful views at the top, 100% worth it. Oh and thanks to whom ever found our glove and left it for us 8-)
