The lake is currently full all the way up to the tree line, so it's a little awkward getting photos. It's still a lovely spot though!

You need to do this hike, we have done a lot of hikes and this is one of our favourites. The hike is approx 6km return, we did this quite late and it was very shaded. The first part of the hike is magical seeing the stunning falls along the way and then after the boardwalk it gets quite steep, so be warned it's mostly up hill. When you get to the lake though, it's so worth it!!! The views are phenomenal, and the touch of snow on the mountains were a great sight to see. This hike is mainly shaded but bring heaps of water and be sun smart! Absolutely stunning lake, so worth the difficult trail. Stick to the shore you arrive on though, the other banks have avalanches in winter and spring, a pretty big one came down while we were there and while they're amazing from a distance you don't want to be in their way...
