Description

A portion of the walkway 10 minutes walk in from the Ngakawau carpark is closed due to an active and highly dangerous slip. Do not cross the barriers. Mangatini Falls can be accessed from the Seddonville carpark. The Seddonville carpark to Mangatini Falls is approximately a 4 hour round walking trip. 9.5 km one way. Scenery and history combine in this walk along an historic bush tramway, with spectacular vistas up and down the Ngakawau Gorge, alongside an unfolding view of the Mangatini Falls. Located near Westport, it's one of our best short walks. Mangatini Falls Views of Upper Ngakawau Gorge Remnants of sawmilling and mining history Dogs allowed. Keep dog under control at all times.
