Description
If you desire the space, peace and the health giving properties of clean country air, then Smiths Farm Holiday Park is the place for you. Situated on a working beef farm, the Park is a base from which to relax, explore the beautiful Marlborough Sounds or the wider wine region of the Marlborough area of New Zealand. It is also an ideal stopover if you are travelling to or from the North Island.
There are four comfortable standard cabins, two self contained units, two motels and a self contained cottage. The Park also offers flat, powered and non powered sites which are ideal for campers, caravans and campervans. Accommodation and sites fill up early so be sure to book to avoid the disappointment.
There are a number of farm and bush walks highlighting the natural history and the farming heritage of the area to explore during your stay. The Park itself has a private (for staying guests only) walk that goes past farm animals into the lush native bush on a trail to a beautiful 20m waterfall and a magnificent glow worm grotto. Birdlife abounds and keen birders will delight in the species found within the Park.
Smiths Farm is also only located 4km from the Anakiwa end of the stunning Queen Charlotte Track. Barbara and Chris can help you organise a day walk or a longer excursion and can also book water taxis, sea kayaks or mountain bike rental for you. Courtesy pick up or drop off at Anakiwa is by arrangement and it is a great spot to stop for the night if you are walking the Te Araroa Trail.
For those of you still looking for other options there is the Link Pathway which passes our front gate (which, when it is finished, will link Picton to Havelock). There is boating, fishing, and enough natural history to fill your soul for days.
