Porters Ski Area Road, Selwyn District, South Island.

Porters Lodge has comfortable, bunk-style family accommodation set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. We have a fully licenced bar with the best craft beer selection in Castle Hill and serve freshly cooked hot meals and snacks in the restaurant. We are nestled at the base of Porters Ski Area in the Craigieburn range, so perfectly located whether you're here for the skiing, biking, hiking, the stunning views or simply passing by. Drop in and say hello, enjoy a bite to eat and a cold drink, or maybe an awesome Underground Coffee to go to get you back on the road! Porters Lodge can host self-contained campervans or mobile homes with the addition of four powered sites and we can also host unpowered sleeper vans, and these can be booked online. Guests in campervans can use the Lodge's shower & bathroom facilities, WiFi, as well as get hot meals and drinks from Bar & Restaurant. There is a strict limit on the number of overnight campervans, so booking is recommended. Spaces will otherwise be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The Porters Lodge is powered during the day by a generator with backup storage batteries providing 24/7 power, however we cannot support high wattage electric heating on the powered sites. Be aware that the nearest dump stations are at Arthurs Pass 68km to the West or Springfield 27km to the East so consider this before you come on to the Mountain.

Really nice place! The lodge is beautiful and the food is great. Nice hot shower!

Loved this place, felt like a cosy home and the food is delicious - best burgers we had in NZ so far. Great bathroom facilities and they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. The sundeck is awesome to enjoy some drinks. They have 2-3? powered sites and several unpowered sites, you can do a reservation online. Highly recommended place 🤩 @julia_ofalltrades

Genuinely surprised by how great this place was! And especially for the price!! Gravel road to get here, but it was in good condition and no trouble at all. Large site with views over the mountains. Access to the lodge was great - clean toilets and hot unlimited showers!! What a treat! Cosy alpine vibes in the lodge - we enjoyed chilling by the wood burner with a drink to charge devices. Good WiFi! Friendly people too. Must be very cool in the winter!! Keep it clean, keep it cheap! Say hello on IG if you're exploring too! @CaiBurton - Travelling Illustrator
