Description
This is a standard 4 bunk hut located in Silver Peaks Scenic Reserve in the Coastal Otago area. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served.
Facilities include mattresses, non-flush toilets and water (not treated - boil before use).
Access is off SH1 at Waitati, north of Dunedin, via Double Hill Road/Mountain Road.
Tracks to the hut: Silver Peaks routes.
Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 6 or 12-month period.
