We've stayed here many times over the years. The council generously provides these free spots, and some campers show their appreciation by abiding by the rules. Unlike the young European man yesterday who, despite the presence of a toilet directly, and I mean directly, across the road, came over a pissed in the grass next to our van, two feet from the edge of a heavily used sidewalk. When I chided him, he said, "It's only water!" Water that will reek once the NZ sun bakes it! Once again, we're guests in someone else's country-behave as such. BTW, in this district, that behavior gets you an instant $800. fine.

It was fine. Playground and skatepark across the road. The toilet had one cubicle closed. Got two drive by honks in the evening. Pretty popular, lots of vans to the bays just up or down the road when this one was full.

Okay spot next to a busy road. Locals are a bit of a wierd bunch, love honking etc. Heaps of European backpackers using the drinking water tap to wash their dishes and do they laundry. Disgusting.
