Spoke with MacKenzie Camping Ambassadors today (10.02.24). Officially the whole coast of Pukaki is closed for camping but as signs haven't gone up yet they are lenient and let people stay the night in SC vehicles. This applies to all places along the shore of the lake. Only campground remaining then will supposedly be The Pines Campsite, Lake Pukaki. So beware that as soon as the signs are up they will enforce this.

Great view of Mt Cook beyond the lake. Power plant is close and hums but we considered it white noise. Swimming off boat ramp was great. Water cool but nice. Panoramic view of the lake with not a few campers. Site is arid with sparse vegetation.

witch road

Great spot right on the lake. No toilets and minimal cell phone coverage.
