Description

This is a basic six-bunk hut in the Mackenzie Country and Waitaki area.. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served. Facilities include heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets and water from a stream. This hut is owned and managed by Mackenzie Alpine Trust - Lake Tekapo. A recommended donation of $10 can be left at the hut. Camp Stream Hut was formerly used as a musterers hut. The present hut is the second one on the site. An earlier hut burnt down and the corrugated iron from that was reused on the current hut. Tracks to the hut: Camp Stream Hut Track.
