Quite scary when you sleep here alone in the middle of a series of thunderstorms. Haha. Anyway, I had no problem there. Not sure if is it truly a free camp permitted by DOC. Could not find any info about. Beyond the toilet is a small shelter, you can cook there when is rainy. A good choice when you are not SC and you don't wanna pay for camps in Greymouth anymore.

Cool and tidy place. Sometimes a little noisy because of close railway (but not often). Toilet 50m

Really nice and tidy campground. Parking is front of the power station. Flushing toilets are just about 100m away, behind power station. In a case that parking is full just park across river from other side of station. (also easy access to WC)
