Did it last year. 15 minutes walk from the carpark and then around 20-25 minutes to swim to the Maori Rock. My girlfrend was not too confident about the distance to swim so we took a bodyboard with us, like that we could have a rest on the board whenever we wanted. Once there you have a submerged rock where you can seat to rest before the return.

Really beautiful and worth it. If you are swimming, it's a long way and appears further than you think. Don't go unless there are plenty of other boats/people around. There are no easy rest spots along the way. I'm not a strong swimmer and made it there, but was too tired to swim back. Luckily a family with a boat picked me up! Definitely give it a go, but stay safe. Very rewarding.

beautiful! Did it today from the boat ramp. It's probably 30min swim or a bit more.Big satisfaction also because I was close to the carvings and I ruined the tourists on the boat pictures.
