Just spent 4 days there and although it was a good break for us as a couple, not sure kids would endure the conditions for longer. We have no boat, almost a must if you wish to stay longer. The beach is stoned, no sand and the sites have few trees . The shop is well supplied and the locals friendly . Will definitely be back, but only with hubby.

Sites this time of year pretty empty for nonresidents, nice beach for a walk. Clean facilities, no hot water in the kitchen. Showers probably just 4mins for 0,50. Big recycling part for all the rubbish. Relaxed atmosphere, you can see Auckland shine at night. Many fishermen on the boats not really great for fishing from the beach.
