Nice place upon the river, mostly long/permanent places. Best hot shower in NZ till date, although the facilities are a bit old.

Really nice park feels like real river camping hardly anyone around, quiet, relaxing . Great grassy sites good amenities with calming music, several kitchens, beautiful river with two deep swimming holes the water is very clear but brown to look at it's nice sitting listening to the nature by the river particularly the deepest swim hole , well worth a stop in a busy time of year for peace costly at $52 but worth it

Lovely helpful reception when we stayed last minute in mid january though $60 for tiny site. well cared for & well maintained though very crowded. A large group of young pacifica kids & teens ran a noisy riot in the showers in the evening & left everything in a huge mess overnight, even leaving piles of wet clothes in showers. Then there was the very noisy game of spotlight!!! All good humoured but a bit out of control we felt. We would stay again but at a more quiet time of year. Thank you to the lovely young man on reception. Youll go far!
