Kawhia Camping Ground is a quiet holiday park that is in a sheltered position. A short walk along the Pohutukawa lined coast to town and around the corner from the harbour and boat ramp.
Ocean Beach, where the Te Puia Hot Springs seep through the black sands, is just up the road. Free shovels are provided to guests for digging your own hot pool right on the edge of a rugged but scenic west coast beach.
The holiday park has plenty of play equipment to keep the children busy while parents can relax in the shade of the trees. Overseas and Kiwi travellers are very welcome - we pride ourselves in not only making your stay enjoyable but helping you to plan your sightseeing for the next stage of your journey.
We have 14 large Power Sites and 4 Standard Cabins available that sleep up to 6.
Facilities on site include laundry, clothes dryer, fridges and freezers, microwave, oven, plenty of hot plates and free BBQ. The ablution block has free showers, toilets, and accessible facilities for wheelchairs and babies.
For the kids, both young and old, there is a trampoline, soccer and swing ball sets available.
Unlimited free wifi available.
A well-appointed fish cleaning facility including a smoker and bait freezer is available for fishers.

Kleiner gemütlicher und ruhiger Campingplatz. Sehr netter Besitzer, der gute Tipps für Unternehmungen in der Nähe gibt. Nicht neu, aber sehr gepflegt. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Great place... We stayed here two nights instead of one. Place looks a little old school but everything is clean. It's just a small cute place close to an awesome beach were you can dig your own hot pool. We got shovels for free and even our little one got toys to play in the sand... fully recommended
