We booked a campsite on advance online but got put on a small parking slot in front of the cabins they also rent... Unfroendly staff at reception, probably because very busy... Kitchen crowded, well too small for the number of people, no kitchen gear available (pans, pots etc). We ended up cooking in our car. No wifi. Old showers not handy at all, but I guess if you don't care being half naked in front of others that's fine. They strongly encourage you to book the shuttle bus to get to the Tongariro Alpine crossing with their company (40$ pp), especially if you want to be allowed on the premises again once the walk done to have a 4$ shower. Came back at 1pm, got kicked out. I recommend getting organized another way than with these rip off shuttle buses... Would definitely not stay again.

This campsite is very cosy and top located with view on all three volcanoes in the national park. Facilities are clean and the hot shower was best. Great service and spot for the crossing and not that crowded. Easy booking on the website.

Nice small campsite, not standard. Nice for campers as well as tents. Besides that cabins. Shuttle to Tongariro Crossing, taking care of the safety and wellbeing of the walkers. (If you decide last minute not to want to walk, for whatever reason, you won't be charged for the shuttle.) Latest weather information is given in the shuttle. Suggestion to owner: provide for plugs for the sinks, so no water will be wasted any more. (Now people do their dishes with the tap constantly running!)
