Description
Aroha Island offers powered and unpowered camp sites for tents or camper vans in a beautiful setting. It has upgraded full kitchen facilities, showers, toilets and drinking water. Free gas BBQs & picnic area under gazebo. Holiday house and cottage accommodation options are also available. Dogs/cats etc are not permitted and there are no fires or smoking on the island. Accessible by causeway for RVs, camper trailers and caravans. Beach front or bush fringed sites. . Bush walk with amazing bird life including kiwis that you can try to spot at night. Eco centre has WiFi and place to sit. NZMCA discount available.

Absolutely loved this spot! Lower campground (unpowered sites only) directly at the shore, good facilities, but the real attraction of course are the beautiful surroundings. We spent two nights there as we loved the peace and quiet of the place. And of course, we also came here for the Kiwis. After a lot of patience, we were able to spot a female Kiwi and watch it roam around for about 30min at 1am. Recommended. Just one hint: The powered sites felt a bit cramped to me.

sweet little campground right next to the shore. friendly staff. hot shower cost 1$ for 5 minutes. clean facilities.

Such a lovely place and nice stuff. We stayed in the tent ($22pp booking online). 2 Kiwis are around in the night. Shower is $1 for 5minutes :) Really enjoyed this place
