Description
Freedom camping permitted in self-contained vehicles that clearly displays NZS5465:2001 certification. If you don't have a self-contained mobile home with this certification you will need to find a campground.
You can stay for a maximum of two nights per calendar month. You must park legally in the designated area only and comply with noise requirements.
There are 4 spaces available at Waipuna Park. Freedom camping is only permitted 7pm Sunday 10am Friday only. No camping Friday and Saturday nights.

Nice quiet spot in a parking lot. Toilets locked by 8:30. I do also say Tye and Rotary park are nicer spots on the water with open toilets but I do recommend staying here if those aren't options! Follow me on ig @jo__weiner :)

Nice spot. Felt safe, since gate closes at 10pm. Spots are marked on the street. The sign posted as photo is NOT up-to-date.

Nice sport during the night, quiet. We had a good rest until 7.30am when a guy starting mowing the lawn literally next to our van. Not many spots. When we arrived last night (Tuesday) there was a motorhome and another sc, the motorhome was using 2 spots and just 4 spots are available to spend the night. We got the last one. I would like to mention the European guy that was in his sc, who moved his van a bit to give us more space because ours is LWB, very kind!
