This hut is a great half day tramp or overnight tramp for families with children and new trampers. 16 bunk beds. Easy walk from road end 1-3 hours. Waingongoro Hut (900 m) is set on a cliff-side high above the Waingongoro Stream, with a backdrop of native bush. A grassy area out front offers views up the gorge to Mt Taranaki and is ideal for camping.The highest swingbridge in Egmont National Park is just 5 minutes walk from the hut. The Waingongo
