Visitor centre open during the day with 24hr toilets. The beach is magnificent. Free camping area clearly signed, unfortunately it is quite exposed to the wind.

This site is my favorite in Welly. Close by the ocean, hikes around, good toilets and 4g. The only thing is if it's windy, you're in for a treat!

Fantastic spot only a few minutes from the city. In June we were able to roll up at 11:30pm and find half the bays empty still, the camping ones are right at the end. 24 hour toilets available at the visitor centre. Very quiet and beautiful walk in the morning along the beach.
