Beautiful, beautiful campsite but the booking is still a pain. It worked and we had a really nice and quiet night there. Huge campsite, Longdrop toilets clean, next to the beach just a small walk over the dunes. We would come back

Magic spot very well maintained and looked after. Great birdlife very quiet as was Monday. Great walks around and the beach is spectacular. A bugger to book online but easy enough process. I stayed an extra night, just so peaceful and quiet. Drinking water aswell.

One of the most beautiful parts of NZ in our eyes and this campsite, although no views is placed right on a gorgeous beach and amongst it all! $16.00 per adult, per night isn't bad, same as a DOC site really, but the way of accessing the camp via the council website is quite convoluted. Beautifully quiet at night apart from the waves and bird noise, didn't see any kiwis but pkeko's are so funny to watch aye! Remember to clean up after yourself and don't leave rubbish or food outside your rig. Find us on Instagram if you like @saltyskin
