What a stunning place! Right by the river with views of Mts Taranaki and Ruapehu. By the airport true, but it must a small one as only saw small planes flying in daylight only.

I would not recommend staying here. Just a gravel car park and lots of vehicle hooning activity obvious and signs of burnt out cars, dumped rubbish etc.
