One of the best campsites we have been so far. It's a bit out of the way but well worth the drive. There's alot of room here too.

Great campsite, spent three nights it was so relaxing. Plenty of space. Upper section I didn't check out but had toilet block and shower cubicle by the look. Stayed in lower section overlooking the babbling river. Long drop thunderbox type wooden toilets with no toilet paper so bring some with you. Heaps of tables and rock rimmed fireplaces so bring wood for a fire if you want. Interesting road in around the mountain and a gate that needs to be opened and shut behind you as you go in and out. Only one other person came for one night while we were there although saw others in the upper section as we left. River in front and surrounded by foliage covered mountains. Beautiful outlook. Well worth the drive and not so far from Tongariro
