Stayed there last night after visiting the geothermal park. There was only us. Beautiful place, very quiet. They left the toilets open all night for us and there is free Wi-Fi. This morning the view over the park was wonderful.

Only free when purchasing entry to attraction! Orakei Korako is for my opinion anyway the best geothermal area to visit, so support this place and pay your entrance and enjoy. Toilets are also open during night and very clean. The view from the camping area towards the geothermal teracces is stunning. We even see one of the geysir from our camper van.

We did not camp - but would next time - the geothermal park us a real gem - the boat ride across adds to the mystique of this splendid place with its 2 kms of boardwalk around hot steaming rocks and very pretty & u unusual landscape - reminded us of Iceland
