Freedom camping permitted in self-contained vehicles that clearly displays NZS5465:2001 certification. If you don't have a self-contained mobile home with this certification you will need to find a campground.
You can stay for a maximum of two nights per calendar month. You must park legally in the designated area only and comply with noise requirements.
There are 2 spaces available in the sealed car park at Ngatai Road end only.

Stayed here lastnight. Good spot just very noisy with night drilling and trains all night. Toilets shut around 8pm and were open in the morning.

Pretty and not bad. But noisy with the train passinf right by and bells sounding from it. Not bad place though but still only two spots which is silly just like everywhere around here so it is what it is :)
