Crazy dude who seemed to think of himself as the park ranger came up to us when we arrived talking a load of nonsense. Seemed harmless enough but spooked us into moving on, used a loo on the way out and it was grim. Seat and lid gone, graffiti everywhere and filthy all over. Give this one a miss.

Nice spot, very quiet and we didn't have issues with locals. There was locals but they didn't care about us. Nice wee river. A lot of sandflies

We had an awesome night there, busy in day with the swimming, but quiet as on the night, massive space too but only 4 of us camped, toilets on site. Close to Waitomo caves that's why we stayed.
