Freedom camping permitted in CERTIFIED SELF-CONTAINED VEHICLES ONLY.
Maximum of 2 night stay.
Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace.
Keep New Zealand clean. Always use the toilet in your vehicle or a public toilet.
All dogs must be restrained at all times to ensure the safety of other campers and the owners are responsible for the removal of their dogs' waste.

A basic carpark. The downside it's that even if it's far away from SH1, there is also a lot of traffic passing in front of the carpark (logging trucks at night...).
