Thistle is outside the National Park on public land beside Lake Kaitawa. Zero man-made facilities, must be totally self contained. Awesome walk from Kaitawa power station up to the top of the penstocks at Lake Waikaremoana. No Spark coverage here. Coverage is available up at Onepoto

Remote site. No signs about camping. But i just went in one corner. It's pretty windy and rainy. Now, maybe its just only now. But heads up. Shakey shakey. Nice spot.
