Fantastic spot River water is ok to drink, toilets are long drops but acceptable Nestled in a Manuka forest so there are quite a lot of bees, but we found them harmless

Beautiful campground with grasspots in the forest. Lot of space and shelter. Nice views of the mountains. 2 drop toilets, second one long time not used but clean enough. Low season so only 1 other campervan and a tent when I stayed. Really quiet place.

Excellent spot! You can park everywhere and it's a very quiet location with lot of tracks around there, a river, etc. Road in very good condition and a short gravel road to go down to the free camp (it doesn't matter the weather, it would be not a problem to get the campground). Full of bees, don't forget a fly net!
