Description
Napier City Council dedicated freedom camping site at Foreshore Reserve car park.
8 vehicles only in white marked spaces.
Non self-contained vehicles permitted. No tents.
2 nights max stay.
Toilet facilities are available.
Please respect the sites. They are public spaces so please consider other users.
Dispose of all waste in facilities provided, or take it with you.
No fires, alcohol, tents or washing lines.
Park in a legal manner in formed parking areas without obstructing footpaths or access ways.
No person may freedom camp for more than 10 nights in any rolling 30 day period on any land controlled or managed by Napier City Council.

1 star. Arrived on my first day at 11am to secure a NSC spot. While I was parking in one of these spots. Locals with large motorhomes literally drove me off the designated parking spot by aggressively driving close against my vehicle. Then they claimed that these parking spots are only for motorhomes and that I had to go somewhere else. I knew this was not true but I didn't feel like having a confrontation and just left. Then they basically claimed all the overnight spots with their two rediculously large motorhomes. Very unfortunate. I'm happy council is providing camping opportunities for non self contained vehicles, just so unfortunate that locals in motorhomes need to ruin this for us. I've attached a picture of them on the pictures section.

Full when we arrived at 4:30pm, half the spots taken by SC as usual... Still can't understand why they don't go 300m further, it starts to feel like they do it on purpose... Is that a thing ??

Guys is a place for NSC ONLY!!! You have at least 5 places for SC for free. Nice spot, and clean toilet. You have potable water close by. Council check every night the place , so be careful you can stay max 2 nights, otherwise is $200 fine.
