It's really useful to have one freedom camping in Wellington instead of Auckland. The parkings around the CBD are really expensive. There is one close to the te pata Museum it was the cheapest one.

One of our favorite while catching the ferry in Wellington, plenty of space and two toilets close to the public pool, hot pools for $6.

I'm Hungry

Great spot just off the highway, 2 x clean toilets. Can have marina view and not very noisy even though right next to the main road. Lots of RV's but you will still place as lots of parking.
