Only a sign stating 'Non SC vehicles are not permitted to park overnight anywhere in the region'. Spent 1 night here on the way to fletcher bay and again 1 night on the way back. Parked right up to the shore where the benches are to watch the sunset. No one around at all. Beautiful spot! Colville general store 2 mins in Colville- last stop to stock up on fuel, groceries etc. before heading up to the top of the coromandel.

Couldn't see the freedom camping signs but parked ok on the left hand end of the beach by the picnic tables. Very tidal beach, but very quiet for a great sleep.

A lot of spaces there directly on the grassfield of the picnic area. It is just allowed to stay there as a fully self contained vehicle! There is a sign which indicates it and we even called the council to be sure that overnight parking is allowed there. Quite nice spot close to the water. With the tides the water comes really close to the place itself. Just a good place for staying overnight if you are planning to go further up north and don't want to stay at a gravel field. No toilets or rubbish bins available at this spot. As always - TIAKI - and be nice and calm to the people living there :)
